I represent people who are harmed by the negligence of others - personal injury law. These cases include medical malpractice, and wrongful death. I handle many auto accident cases, of course, but also less common cases like dog bites, premises liability, and food poisoning cases.
Choosing a lawyer:
I strongly believe that an important part of selecting a lawyer is talking with them, preferably in person. Use all the resources available to you to consider potential lawyers. But if your case involves litigation, and it goes to trial, your lawyer will be the only person standing beside you in court…so you need to be comfortable with them, and a face-to-face meeting is a good way to figure out if you are comfortable.
Until 2010 I was a Senior Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney with the City of Virginia Beach, and prosecuted a variety of serious cases. I left that office to enter private practice with my current firm. I still handle criminal cases in state and federal court, as I spent the first part of career trying criminal cases, but the vast majority of my practice now focuses on helping injured people.
Communication is important, and I communicate the way you do. Email? Of course, it's one of the best ways to convey information. Texting for a simple question? I text with clients frequently. Need a large document, like your medical records? We'll send you a Dropbox link. If you are out of town or just need a face-to-face meeting and can't make it to the Oceanfront, Skype and Google Hangouts are not a problem. Or you can call me on my direct line, which is (757) 671-6083 or visit my website at www.edboothlaw.com and fill out a client contact form. Either way I aim to get back in touch with clients quickly.
I am a Member of the Virginia State Bar, and admitted to practice in all Virginia courts, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Ed is fantastic advocate for his clients. I had the pleasure of prosecuting a case where he was defense counsel. My first impression was not to agree to any time specific plea agreement due to the facts of the case. However, Ed was extremely effective in informing me about the virtues of his client and other facts in the case that I was not aware of. By the time we were done I agreed with Ed's initial plea offer, which treated his client extremely well in the end. Ed is sharp, approachable, and deeply committed to his craft. You can't go wrong with him on your side.

I have had the pleasure of both working with and adverse to Mr. Booth. He has always conducted himself in a professional manner. I have found him to be always prepared, knowledgeable, and diligent. I have referred cases to Ed in the past and will continue to do so as I know the client will get top notch representation.
