Until 2010 I was a Senior Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney with the City of Virginia Beach, and prosecuted a variety of serious cases. I left that office to enter private practice with my current firm. I still handle criminal cases in state and federal court, as I spent the first part of career trying criminal cases, but the vast majority of my practice now focuses on helping injured people.
I am a Member of the Virginia State Bar, and admitted to practice in all Virginia courts, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. I’m also a member of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association (VTLA), and active in the organization as co-chair of the VTLA Publications Committee of the peer-reviewed Journal, and a Committee Chair (Legal Studies) for the Virginia Beach Bar Association.
I primarily represent people who are harmed by the negligence of others - personal injury law. I handle many auto accident cases, of course, but also less common cases like dog bites, premises liability, and food poisoning cases. My firm and I also handle medical malpractice cases.
I strongly believe that an important part of selecting a lawyer is talking with them, preferably in person. Use the resources available to you to consider potential lawyers. But if your case involves litigation, and it goes to trial, your lawyer will be the only person standing beside you in court…so you need to be comfortable with them, and a face-to-face meeting is a good way to figure out if you are comfortable.

I have had the pleasure of both working with and adverse to Mr. Booth. He has always conducted himself in a professional manner. I have found him to be always prepared, knowledgeable, and diligent. I have referred cases to Ed in the past and will continue to do so as I know the client will get top notch representation.
