I was passing through VA on the interstate, and I got pulled over for speeding. When I read the consequences for speeding in VA I was really worried. I called Mr.Keefer's office and was received very kindly. I perceived him as someone very confident in his work. He knows what he's doing and he has a lot experience in the Harrisonburg, VA court house. VA is pretty strict on speeding, and I felt it best to take my chances with an experienced lawyer regardless the expense. My ticket was reduced from reckless driving to a normal speeding ticket (79/70). Given the possibilities, I am very happy with the results. Don't speed in Virginia!
My daughter at. jMU faced a reckless driving type case based on a speed trap near campus. Mr Keefer was highly recommended to handle this case as a referral from another attorney. Mr Keefer is very personable and he and his assistant Beth informed us exactly what we needed to provide to him. Mr Keefer did an excellent job arguing this case directly to the Judge and obtained the best possible disposition which was defective equipment a no points charge. My daughter didn't even have to appear in Court. I am very pleased and would highly recommend Mr Keefer as a excellent attorney. Any parent who has a child at jmu should definitely hire Bob Keefer as counsel if there is any legal trouble of any kind.
I was extremely pleased with my outcome of my offense. I had no priors and received a reckless driving charge for going 13 over. Mr. Keefer and his staff (Beth) were very upfront about what my options were and what they believed they could get it reduced to. Mr. Keefer sent me a list of documentation that we pulled together in a hurry. He did not have to push my court date back and I was not needed the day of the trial (like many other lawyers asked me to be). He made me feel very comfortable about my case and his abilities. From being in practice for years in the area, he is knowledgable about all the judges, police officers and everyone else in between. He knew eactly what the judge would want to see in my file. I would recommend this lawyer to anyone in a bind like I was. He ended up getting my ticket reduced significantly to just improper driving, less than $100 ticket and no points on my license. You're in good hands with Mr. Keefer (and his staff)!
Bob's capable, efficient representation saved me two long trips to court. He got my RD charge first continued for 6 months, then dropped upon submission of evidence of good performance during that time and other character evidence--and he knew exactly what I needed to submit. Beth at his office is very capable and cooperative. I'd absolutely recommend him, or rehire--which hopefully won't be necessary!
I had hired Mr. Keefer for speeding related violation. From the day I contacted his office to the day of the hearing we had very good coordination over email. I spoke to Mr. Keefer just once, but he understood my case, he asked pertinent questions and set specific, realistic expectations. Once I provided him all the information he delivered what he had promised during our first call. His assistant Ms. Beth was also very helpful in coordinating all the aspects.
I am happy with his service, so I would highly recommend him.
Mr. Keefer was able to get my charge dropped from RD to improper driving. All work was done by email, mail and phone. he and his staff responded to all my emails and phone calls quickly. Amazing!
You are in excellent hands with Bob and his colleague Beth Todd. Our freshman child at James Madison University was arrested by the police in his dorm room and charged with intoxication in public. Bob successfully had the case dismissed. He was reassuring throughout the process, answered all of our questions in advance of the court date and helpfully suggested steps that our child could take to better the changes of getting the case dismissed. If you or your family find themselves in a similar situation, do NOT HESITATE to hire Bob!!
I hired Mr. Keefer for a misdemeanor traffic offense in Virginia. I am out of state and relied on the various reviews he received, which were quite good. Mr Keefer was very expensive compared to other attorneys, but I thought I was getting the best.
I completed the entire laundry list of items he required and even took a Driver Improvement Course which took me 10 hours to complete. I am a middle-aged woman with a perfect driving record and was reacting to a medical emergency at the time. Needless to say, I don't know what Mr. Keefer did on my behalf because I was found guilty. His response was that the judge found "everyone guilty that day." If that is the case then Mr. Keefer should give up law, because he is totally ineffective. His secretary also told me I should pay the fine within 24 hours, but it is not easy to come up with over $800 after paying a hefty legal bill. This is a huge revenue producer in VA and it is not going to change. In hindsight I should have hired the $400 lawyer and could have gotten the same result. To appeal the decision is well over $1,200 and to me is just throwing more money to the economy of VA. My good name is ruined and I am angry, but I am out of options.
My husband I found Mr. Keefer to be an excellent attorney. He and his office staff were very prompt in responding to questions we had concerning my case. His preparation for my case was timely and well researched.
When it was time to discuss several pertinent issues that
we had neglected to give him he quickly added them to his preparation for my case.
I had a good driving record except for 1 previous car accident. I took an online driving course at his suggestion and found it very informative.
When the time came for my case to be presented to the judge Mr. Keefer was concise and respectful to the judge.
After court Mr. Keefer answered any questions we had concerning the case and invited us to contact him if we had further questions regarding my case.
In summary Mr. Keefer is an excellent attorney whom I would recommend to anyone who needs a thorough, informative and compassionate attorney.
Without a doubt, Mr. Keefer is a blessing in disguise and I was very fortunate to obtain Keefer Law Firm to represent me. I was pulled over outside of Harrisonburg VA and charged with reckless driving for speeding - 83 in a 60 MPH zone. Rather frightening to be facing a substantial fine, potential jail time, a criminal charge, and the 11 yr. black mark on my DMV record (I think that stays regardless of the outcome). I work in the medical profession and penalties are applied from the VA Board of Medicine and my professional organizations. Needless to say, my car insurance would skyrocket, forever! Shortly after I received my ticket, I was inundated with brochures mailed from competing attorney offices. Mr. Keefer was strongly recommended by several of his colleagues who could not represent me because of the location of the Court. Mr. Keefer and his assistant Beth Todd, were reassuring and assisted me in obtaining documentation for Mr. Keefer to successfully represent me. Beth was very professional throughout the entire process, and did a great job of cajoling me to provide all the necessary information to help with my defense. Mr. Keefer is thorough and knows what he needs to represent you! I was unable to travel back to Harrisonburg because of an out of state assignment and Mr. Keefer again, calmed my fears regarding his ability to represent me in my absence. He never promised a positive outcome but remained confident in his abilities. Mr. Keefer was able to reduce my RD charge to improper driving. The fine was very reasonable but, most important to me, is not checking the "yes" box to the question; Do you have a criminal record?! I cannot verbalize enough positives about Mr. Keefer and Beth. I would highly recommend Keefer Law Firm to anyone finding themselves in a similar predicament in need of a trustworthy attorney. Thanks Mr. Keefer and Beth.
