Rixon "Rix" Rafter is a civil litigation attorney with broad experience in the government, military, business, and the legal system. Rix was a military officer for over 20 years before taking up the bar.
Rix grew up in the Midwest and wanted to 'fly jets' after college. He wore the nation's cloth through the Cold War and both Gulf Wars . Rix was stationed and/or lived abroad in both Europe and Asia for years. He put himself through law school nights and weekends while serving as a Pentagon staff officer and later as consultant and company Director in Washington DC.
Rix brings these previous 'lives' and the accumulated skill sets to bear on behalf of his clients when solving problems and dealing with opposing counsel and judges.
Rix currently has a private general law practice in Northern Virginia where he is an active member of the Federal Bar Association, the Virginia State Bar, the Virginia Bar Association, the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, and the Fairfax County Bar Association.
Rix is a life member of the Disabled American Veterans and Veterans of Foreign Wars and sits on the boards of numerous civic and community groups. Rix is an experienced endurance athlete, a marathoner, a USMC Running Club member, and a Northern Virginia Swim League official and he holds an active TSSCI security clearance.
