Mr. Hobbs helped me with a very complex bankruptcy, that included several properties. The banks wouldn't work with me at all, and I had little recourse, other than to file Chapter 7. Mr. Hobbs' knowledge of the current bankruptcy law, and both the banks side and the consumer side saved me considerable time and money. He truly "counseled" me when my emotional side kicked in and I wanted to try and keep one of my properties (he was right with his advice, and I am glad I wasn't so stubborn that I wouldn't listen to him). Now that the bankruptcy has been completed, I was able to reestablish myself, and currently own my home outright (no property speculating for me in the future!). I have recommended him to several friends who had similar problems, and they have said the same thing. You get what you pay for, and this man is worth every penny if you want to go to sleep and not worry about someone who dropped the ball because they didn't pay attention to the details. Thanks Mr. Hobbs!
I met with Chester and explained my unique situation. He was able to clearly explain my options and promptly sent my documents. I feel much better now that it is all taken care of and I know my wishes will be carried out. I would highly recommend him to any of my friends.
Mr. Hobbs seems like a nice guy, but he really did not listen to me and did not fully understand my situation. I did not get the best legal advice and I wish that I would have gone elsewhere.
I recognized the importance of estate planning at an early age when my father, a talented and well-known musician, performer and private lesson teacher, died of a heart attack at age 56. I was 18. He remarried my step-mother years ago and never created a new Will. The laws of intestacy favored my step-mother. Everything was left to her - the life insurance policy, the vintage musical instruments, and all other properties. This left my mother, three siblings and I devastated and angry.
After that experience, I knew I needed a reputable estate planning lawyer for my own family. I guess you could say I had high standards having worked with a few lawyers before (primarily for my prenuptial agreement and real estate transactions). I researched estate planning lawyers in my area and came across Mr. Hobbs.
The topic of estate planning is generally not pleasant, but Mr. Hobbs's welcoming kindness and expertise guided my spouse and I through the process without the conversation ever being awkward. We were able to include provisions for our minor children through the creation of a revocable living trust and ensure that we were taking full advantage of the most recent changes to estate tax laws.
I highly recommend Chester Hobbs as an estate planning attorney for his professionalism, compassion and expertise.
