Daniel Rosefelt supervised my case at his firm, although most of the work appears to have been done by an associate.
At first, I had no problem. Then the associate who was assigned to my case left the firm, and getting the new associate to answer an email was like winning the lottery - something that just doesn't happen that often. On one of the rare occasions when I could get a response, I was told (in late November) that the main task for which I had hired the firm would most likely be completed "Monday". Apparently that meant a Monday in February.
I first thought about switching representation in mid-November, when I was unable (despite repeated requests) to get the new associate to tell me whether we would be able to meet an IRS deadline which would occur at that time. However, I felt somewhat held hostage - if I switched, would the work already done, have to be redone? So I allowed myself to be strung along for months. I now wish I had switched representation in November when that particular thought first occurred to me.
When you're checking your bank account on-line to see if the IRS has cashed a cheque, because your attorney refuses to tell you whether your paperwork has been submitted, something is seriously wrong.
I contacted Mr Rosefelt's firm after hearing their advertisements on radio. I have a tax deliquency and I requested a consultation. Mr. Rosefelt e-mailed me saying that my issue was relatively minor and advised me of the best actions for me to take by e-mail and didn't even have me come in or charge me a fee. I had some follow-up questions which he answered very quickly even though I had not officially hired him as my lawyer or to represent me.
My husband and I came to Dan Rosefelt in the fall of 2011. We were financially in ruins as a result of the Great Recession. My husband lost his position and my income had taken a nosedive. We had our backs up against the wall and did not know which way to turn. As professionals. we did not know how to best resolve our situation. We used all of our assets to try to keep our heads above water. We needed an attorney that was an expert in his field of bankruptcy and tax law. We needed the expertise of an attorney that could give us a complete new start. Dan was able to help us. He was compassionate to our situation and respectful even when we felt so low. Dan expertly handled our bankruptcy and the entire process with expert competency. We knew that we were in good hands. We had a complicated case and Dan represented us at the bankruptcy hearing. We feel that it was ONLY because of Dan's experience and expertise that we were able to resolve our situation successfully. My husband and I felt that Dan was accessible at all times through this horrible time in our lives. He gave us hope and treated us with dignity. Dan was able to handle our case so that there was no impact on our careers. He continued to answer questions long after the case was closed. We trusted him completely with our lives and our futures during that difficult time. I would highly recommend him to anyone that is in need of an attorney that is trustworthy and highly successful in handling difficult cases. Our experience with Dan was the best and the outcome was the most positive that we could have hoped for. It has been two years since that awful time and we have moved on successfully. We have been able to restore our financial fitness to a high level. We would not have been able to accomplish this without the expertise and knowledge of Dan Rosefelt. He REALLY did care about us as people and in really showed in the outcome of our case.
I always felt like he was personally involved and concerned with my issues. He was very competent.
