Eric is an excellent attorney, the best I've worked with.
He does a great job of keeping on top of things and lends a sharp business perspective as well.
I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for an attorney.
Eric has provided invaluable counsel in our corporation's varous filings with the IRS as well as negotiations with potential partners. He provided valuable insight and well balanced guidance that as well vital counsel that enabled us to avoid significant potential liabilities. Eric is ethical, easy to work with and passionate about his work.
The acquantance with Eric was made as my partner and I first discussed the best way to start a consumer goods company in Seattle. Eric noted that he was a start up lawyer and would like to discuss our company with us.
Eric did not apply a high pressure sales pitch but instead made his value add known simply through describing what he has done for other organizations and how he could apply his knowledge to our situation. His calm demeanor is easy to work with and his presentation of numerous applicable and usable ideas for our organization make him a desireable advisor and partner.
I rate Eric as excellent in trustworthy from experience working with him for the last year. His attitude and professional composure are supportive of a trustworthy individual along with his solid advice. When consulting with Eric I was certain he was out for our best interest.
I rate Eric as good in responsiveness because he almost always emails back the same day and if he is glad to spend face time with us.
I rated Eric as excellent in knowledgeable. Eric always had an angle to think about problems in a different way. He was a fundamental part in our approach to issues such as:
- business structure
- intellectual property
- capitalization and fund raising
- business contact development
I rated Eric as good in Kept me informed. As noted previously Eric always responded to emails in a reasonable amount of time and was eager to help us move to the next step.
Overall I recommend Eric for his ability to work with people and knowledge. Because he can work with a variety of people it is inherent that he has good communication skills.
What can't I say about Eric K? Well for starters, he's the biggest overachiever I know; he volunteers and organizes fundraisers to benefit sick children, plays in a basketball league, practices law at least 60 hours a week at Heller Ehrman, maintains a wonderful marriage, lectures around the country on "clean tech", and still finds time to write incredibly insightful books on technology-entrepreneurship.
As far as his nature Eric is goodhearted, earnest and always has his eye on the big picture. He's young and full of energy, as evidenced by his many activities, and if he doesn't know something, he actually tells you he doesn't know, and then finds it out... quickly! (A refreshing concept indeed.)
In terms of venture law I wouldn't want anyone else as my primary counsel. In fact if he changed firms I would change firms with him- that's how much of a benefit he's been to me, my partners, and my companies.
Eric has helped us in our search for capital. We are an early start-up, yet Eric has given us his complete attention and made us feel like we were an important client. Eric has made some great introductions and really helped us navigate the difficult road of raising capital. I would recommend Eric to anyone raising money for their company.
Eric has been my point person for Geodelic, a venture funded startup in Santa Monica. He is extermely responsive, and knowledgeable. We went through our first roud negotiations and the opposing counsel complemeted him on his red-lines as they added clarity.
Absolutley someone you want to work with.
