About Me

I'm an immigration attorney working with a great team at Bromberg, Kohler Maya & Maschler, PLLC, a boutique immigration practice in DC ranked by U.S. News and World Report on a list of "best law firms" for immigration law nationwide. I am ranked AV "preeiminent" by Martindale-Hubbell.  I  have represented immigrants from around the world, and have presented on immigration law and policy in the U.S. and Costa Rica.  I am experienced in family-based cases, removal defense, asylum, and business matters such as L-1 and Religious Worker cases.  Appellate successes include achieving reversals of erroneously denied cases initially handled by other attorneys. Thorough documentation has enabled my clients to obtain grants of waivers and petitions which had been previously denied.  I am awaiting the result of a case of first impression regarding U.S. immigration regulations which, in my opinion, violate the Child Citizenship Act of 2000 by imposing barriers to citizenship for adopted children.  I am the daughter of immigrants, and formerly worked as a teacher. From relatively simple cases to those that involve researching foreign law at the law library of Congress, I do my best for each and every client. As the daughter of immigrants, I was very moved to be admitted to practice before the Supreme Court bar by Justice Sotomayor shortly after she was sworn in.
