David A. Schlier received a Bachelor of Science degree in materials science and engineering from Drexel University. His studies involved a five-year cooperative education program including work in several engineering and research positions. Here he focused on developing new specialty alloys and powdered metal products at Carpenter Technology Corp. and Hoeganas Corp., respectively, and was a member of the corrosion engineering group at Sunoco, Inc. At Drexel University, Mr. Schlier’s research focused on nanotechnology and advanced ceramics. His senior thesis, entitled “Pore Size and Post Annealing Optimization for Carbon Dioxide and Hydrogen Adsorption in Carbide Derived Carbons”, involved extensive research into the remarkable gas adsorption properties of nano-porous carbon structures.
Mr. Schlier received a Juris Doctor degree from Drexel University, Earl Macke School of Law. He graduated with honors in Intellectual Property Law. During law school Mr. Schlier interned at Fish & Richardson, in their patent litigation group, and was involved in a number of pro bono endeavors including work at Philadelphia Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts.
