You can change lawyers whenever you want. Just send him a termination letter.

Most personal injury lawyers take cases on a contingency fee basis. They don't get money unless and until you get money.
Hire a traffic court lawyer, and once you beat ticket, get a local personal injury lawyer to get you compensation.
