Jeremy A. Wechsler is a licensed attorney in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and focuses his practice on estate planning, elder law/long term care planning and asset protection for a variety of families. Jeremy is adamant that every family should plan, no matter how little or much they have, remarking that “proper estate planning shows compassion for your family, allowing for continuity during difficult times and diffusing any possible conflict or uncertainty.”
Now in the third year of practicing in his own firm, Jeremy has quickly gained the respect and confidence of the community he serves. Jeremy only practices in the area of estate and elder law planning, allowing him to focus his complete attention on the latest laws, trends and tools to create effective plans. He regularly attends conferences and seminars to hear from other experts across the country, most recently attending the Pennsylvania Bar’s Estate and Elder Law Institute in July of 2011. Jeremy is a member of ElderCounsel, a national organization of top Elder Law attorneys.
Jeremy regularly speaks on estate planning matters in front of community groups, as well as seminars and workshops provided for the benefit of prospective and current clients. He also hosts a weekly radio show on retirement and estate planning each week on AM NewsTalk 1180 (Philadelphia, PA).
Beyond estate planning, Jeremy’s life has been devoted to helping others. After graduating from The George Washington University School of Business, Jeremy joined Teach For America, a national program that places recent college graduates in underserved public schools throughout the United States for two years. He spent three years teaching middle school in West Philadelphia.
During law school, Jeremy expanded his focus on helping others by working for the New York City Department of Homeless Services, New York Lawyers for the Public Interest, and The Legal Aid Society. Jeremy also participated in his law school’s Urban Law Clinic, where he successfully helped several clients in special education and employment discrimination matters.
Through these experiences, Jeremy has learned of the importance of helping others and giving back to your community. Estate and elder law planning is a natural extension of his commitment to helping people. Jeremy knows that having a trusted plan that properly cares for family and friends can provide peace of mind for clients and their family members. It is simply the best gift you can give to yourself and your family. As such, Jeremy takes the time to work with each client to understand his or her individual and family needs, and tailors each estate plan accordingly.
Jeremy attended New York Law School, where he graduated at the top third of his class. He is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania, and is an active member of the Pennsylvania Bar and Montgomery County bar. In addition to his legal background, Jeremy holds a Masters of Education from Saint Joseph’s University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from The George Washington University.
In his spare time, Jeremy enjoys traveling, volunteering, politics and spending time with his family and Daisy, his lovable rat terrier. Jeremy is a member of the Family Law Committee of the Montgomery County Bar Association. He also serves as a volunteer arbitrator. He was raised in Langhorne, PA and currently resides in Philadelphia, PA.
