Description:In this case, we represented a nineteen year old special education student with Autism, Mental Retardation and ADHD, and her parents. The Special Education Hearing Officer, ruling on the extensive evidence submitted at the due process hearing, found that the school district, and the Approved Private School (APS) where the student was placed, failed to provide the student with an appropriate behavior support program and also failed to provide adequate transitional services to her. The decision of the Hearing Officer led to a revision of the behavioral programming and transitional services plan for this student and led the APS to reconsider its behavioral programming for other students with behavior issues.
