I am an attorney at the Pittsburgh law firm of Picadio Sneath Miller & Norton, P.C., and I focus my practice in the intellectual property and complex civil litigation areas. In particular, I have represented plaintiffs and defendants in dozens of patent infringement lawsuits throughout the country. I also have experience representing clients at trial, having successfully represented plaintiffs in a case with in a multi-million dollar jury verdict, and on appeal, having successfully argued before the Federal Circuit.
In addition to my litigation work, I devote a substantial amount of my time helping clients obtain patents, typically in the mechanical, electrical, optical, and computer fields.
I am licensed to practice in the states of Pennsylvania and Illinois, as well as being a registered patent attorney before the US Patent and Trademark Office. I am currently admitted to practice before the following federal courts: US District Courts for the Western District of Pennsylvania, Northern District of Ohio, Northern District of Illinois (trial bar), and Central District of Illinois and the US Courts of Appeals for the Federal, Sixth, and Seventh Circuits.
Before practicing in Pittsburgh, I was an associate in the intellectual property and litigation groups at the Chicago law firm of Wildman, Harrold, Allen & Dixon LLP, and I clerked for the Honorable Kathleen M. O'Malley at the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. Judge O'Malley currently sits at the Federal Circuit, which hears all appeals involving patents.
