If you haven't already, you should immediately report this incident to the insurance company who insured the vehicle your husband was driving at the time of this incident. They should be assigning you council to assist in your defense of the civil claim. Best of Luck.

In PA you have two years to bring a cause of action based on personal injuries that you sustained as a result of someone else's negligence. So a year out from your accident you technically, still have the ability to bring suit against your landlord. However, there are many factors that an experienced PI Attorney would like to consider before they determine if you have a viable claim or not. The fact that you did not treat for you original knee injury is problematic, but not necessarily...

You could be sued personally on a few different counts civilly. You may also be cited for failing to have your vehicle insured. Criminally you have nothing to worry about unless the police believe that the drugs/paraphernalia were yours. Best bet is to get insurance right away and consult with a local attorney.

Anyone bring a claim for personal injuries in PA has two years to do so before being barred by the statute of limitations. In the case of a person injured when they are a minor (younger than 18), they have two years to bring a claim from their 18th birthday. So, given your facts you would unfortunately be barred from any recovery in this matter.
