Her practice is focused on guiding her clients through the complicated and often confusing maze of socials security disability claims, debt collection harassment claims (FDCPA violations) as well as bankruptcy filings. She has spent her entire career in the above areas as well as mortgage defense work. She has received the most professional satisfaction from helping people with whom she developed personal relationships.
She is a member of NACA- National Association of Consumer Attorneys, the Erie County Bar Association, the New York Bar Association and the Woman's Bar Association. She is one of only nearly 400 consumer attorneys who has attended Peter Barry's FDCPA bootcamp program in Missouri. She earned her Bachelors, Masters and JD degrees at the University of Buffalo.
She has been quoted by the Buffalo News, Buffalo Law Journal and the Christian Science Monitor. She has taught CLEs (education courses for other attorneys), been on legal discussion panels and has spoken to numerous community groups. Carol has testified before the New York Senate to help pass a law against predatory mortgages. She has worked with the Attorney General's office as well as Senator Schumer's office, appearing at a press conference with Senator Schumer on Rent to Own predatory loans. She has also written articles for the Erie County Bar and New York State Banking Department.
On a more personal level Carol resides in Amherst with her husband Steve and has two daughters. Also residing with her and her family are two spoiled chihuahuas, Meeka and Cookie.
