About me

As an attorney, I strive to obtain the best results for my clients. I understand that for them it’s not just a case, but their very lives are in turmoil. I personally oversee every case and am available to speak directly to cients. Direct communication with my clients is important to providing the best legal representation for them.

As a dedicated advocate who will stand by your side through every step of the legal process I strive to obtain the best possible outcome using effective bargaining and negotiations to skilled trial advocacy as a last resort.

Ronald Scott Zimmer was born on Long Island in 1971 and has lived his entire life in the area. As an attorney, Mr. Zimmer is
committed to bringing his expertise, understanding and enthusiasm to bear for his clients. Due to his extensive legal experience, Mr. Zimmer brings a great depth of knowledge to every case he handles. He is a zealous advocate in representing and protecting the rights of his clients.

Mr. Zimmer attended Stony Brook University, and graduated with a B.A. in 1993. He went on to attend the Touro College Jacob Fuchsberg Law Center, where he received a Juris Doctor (J.D.) in June 2000.

Mr. Zimmer was admitted to the New York State Bar in December 2000. While attending law school, he interned for the Department of Probation at the Courthouse in Central Islip, acting as a trial advocate obtaining Orders of Protection for those in need. From 1997 through December 2000, Mr. Zimmer worked in the field of matrimonial law, writing hundreds of successful motions presented
before the Court. In May of 2001, Mr. Zimmer founded the Law Firm of Ronald S. Zimmer. Although he excels in several areas of the law, he most enjoys representing clients on family law and divorce matters.

Mr. Zimmer's areas of expertise are focused on matrimonial and family law, including extensive trial practice, as well as Appellate practice. Throughout his career, Mr. Zimmer has worked with VIBS (Victims Information Bureau Service), and the Long Island Women’s Coalition for efforts in protecting the rights of battered and abused women. In the past he volunteered his time with the dinner committee and legal
resource council of VIBS helping to raise funds in the pursuit of ending domestic violence against battered and abused women. Mr. Zimmer actively works on modest means panel cases referred by the Suffolk County Bar Association and is also a member of the Suffolk County 18-b Family Court Panel of Attorneys further representing indigent clients.

His clients include bankers, police officers, firemen, teachers, nurses, doctors and homemakers. Throughout his career, Mr. Zimmer has developed a strong record of success that is recognized not only by his clients but by his fellow attorneys as well.

Mr. Zimmer is a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association (1997-Present) and was admitted to practice law in the State of New York, as well as being admitted in the Federal Circuit Courts, Federal Court of Appeals for the U.S. Armed Forces, United States Court of Claims, and the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Zimmer has received awards for outstanding trial advocacy as well as exceptional service to the community.

Mr. Zimmer is a strong proponent in giving back to the community he is such an integral part
of. He believes that it is his obligation to support and help his community and to be of service however possible.

It was in this vane that Mr. Zimmer became an unpaid member of the Suffolk County Auxiliary Police in 2003. The SCAP is a community-based group of highly trained volunteers under the wing of the Suffolk County Police Department, whose primary function is to assist police officers at scenes
requiring police presence, provide patrols in marked police cars to reduce the incidents of crime and vandalism, traffic control, and to provide security or crowd control at
parades, marathons, and other community events. After a four-year period as an Auxiliary Patrolman in the Fourth Precinct, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Mr. Zimmer currently works out of the Suffolk County Fourth Police Precinct.

I highly endorse this lawyer. Ron handled my last referral to him with tact, strength and speed. He is compassionate to the needs of those struggling through a divorce, and is always ready to suggest mediation as a first approach. However, if his client's interests can not be properly protected through mediation, he has no hesitation in using all the resources at his command, which are impressive, in litigation. I would have no hesitation in referring future business to Ron. He is a master of his craft
