    Excellent Attorney

Mr. Bassik has a keen sensitivity in analyzing legal problems, and cuts to the quick, suggesting pragmatic solutions to such problems. He is always responsive on a prompt basis. His knowledge of the NY court system is masterful, and is well-respected by the judges. He has helped me with marital matters and commercial matters, and I have been quite satisfied. He has a very personable manner and he is my first choice on consulting with legal issues.

    Barry Bassik, Esq.

I've known Barry Bassik for a number of years. He is highly regarded by his peers and importantly, by his clients, at least several of whom I know. I too, am a client. Barry is consistently at the top of game as a general practice attorney. He has provided me with valuable business guidance as well as with Estate Planning for me and my wife. I feel at ease with Barry and confident that he is always representing my best interests. I highly recommend Barry Bassik to anyone seeking expert legal guidance.

Mr. Bassik represented me in the purchase of my new home. Although there were many problems with the deal, he made it all happen!

    stay clear of this Attorney

Good at selling himself , good at taking money - asks you to sign blank papers , does not do what is discussed or promised . Likes to make decisions for you at your detriment . Overall a lazy ,sloppy attorney . Recently asked to handle probate/inheritance - then he gave the case to a guy 2 years out of law school while instructing me not to appear at Court , so i would not know . He then had me sign property deed papers , which he apparently tried to transfer to himself . I have the Bar Association looking into it .This attorney is not trustworthy , or honest . I gave the case to him and paid his full asking in January , he finally put it in the Court in May . I lost out just on the time limitations because of this . He was hired to handle both Nassau and Kings Courts , he never went to Kings at all . I had to hire another attorney and go to Kings myself . He did not want to travel to Brooklyn . After i put the matter in Bklyn , he wanted me to give him control . That is the type of attorney he is , I paid him , and he stayed home while I went to Court .Got paid though .Stay clear of this attorney .

Barry Steven Bassik’s response: “He represented himself in his family's probate matter in Brooklyn and did not follow my recommendations which impacted Nassau County's Probate Proceeding. The other attorney is an associate in my office and was admitted for six years at the time.”

unreliable and unresponsive, he left me twisting in the wind... twice.

I hired barry in 2008 to review and assist me in a post judgement motion to reduce my child support. He took a $4500 retainer from me read my divorce agreements (in front of me) and then did nothing. When I needed him to appear in court, he was a "no-show" sending a friend, (not a colleague) to stand in. The friend was utterly unfamiliar w the case and situation, the result of which was a disaster.
Then a situation arose involving the safety of my children, cps was called on my x-wife, again barry was a no-show at the hearing demanding a new $7500 retainer to appear. He refused to provide me with a bill and explanation of how my retainer evaporated.
Bottom line: he is utterly unreliable and cares not for the outcome of his cases.
