  • I have court tuesday can a fine be paid in monthly or weekly installments?

It is a stolen property charge.I was told last week i will need $620.00 and am unsure how i can pay this right away being a single mom.

    Matisyahu’s Answer

Call ahead and ask the court clerk what the judge's policy is in general in regards to this. You might be surprised and the clerk will tell that judge always or never gives time to pay. That way you won't be surprised in court. However, the clerk may tell you nothing. Be nice to the clerk, maybe she will have pity on you. Otherwise, call a local lawyer who is familiar with that court.

A friend gave me pills and I accidentally overdosed. There are no charges against me, but trafficking charges against her. We have court for the first time on Nov. 19, 2012. Will I be drug tested?

If the Prosecution needs evidence in their case against your friend, they could ask you to give a blood test. Contact an attorney asap to protect your rights, so that you don't consent to something that could hurt you.
