About me

Gus has practiced matrimonial law for nearly 15 years and is recognized by his peers and the judiciary as a skilled and formidable advocate for his clients. His clients include accomplished people in the fields of finance, real estate, media and hospitality.

Gus sets himself apart by understanding the nuances of income distribution, complicated tax structures and the nuts and bolts of business in a way few matrimonial attorneys do. This leads to pragmatic results on what a business or individual earns and how to effectuate equitable distribution. He leaves no stone unturned and refuses to settle for less than what his client is entitled to. When circumstances require, Gus is a talented and experienced trial attorney – and the results he obtains for clients are remarkable.

Gus’ private client practice is unique and is founded upon trust. He acts as counsel to a variety of high net worth individuals and businesses that have varied interests such as restaurateurs, investors in real estate and the hospitality industry and private-equity companies. In the area of litigation, he has tried cases to verdict for clients in corporate and real estate disputes among others. On the transactional side, his clients rely on him foremost for his skills in negotiating. He has negotiated NNN long-term multi-million dollar lease deals from Madison Avenue to Orlando. He has handled hundreds of corporate asset purchases and commercial real estate closings throughout New York and as far away as Texas, Florida, Illinois, Arizona and North Carolina.

If the issues involve an area of practice he does not handle, clients ask Gus to oversee the engagement of an attorney and general oversight of the matter based upon their trust in him. To accomplish this Gus has established a trusted network of accomplished attorneys who regularly assist his private clients in the areas of employment law, taxation, and trusts and estates.
Gus lives in Westchester County with his wife, Ismini, and their three children, Iliana, Nicholas and William.  He enjoy reading about U.S. history, skiing and weight-lifting.
