  • How long does it take to transfer title of a home from my father to me (son)?

I live in NY my father died. there is a will that states I would be the sole owner of a single family home in New Jersey I am not the executor (my sister is and she is irresponsible) I know there is some issue with title across state lines but ...

    Galen’s Answer

The executor (your sister) is responsible for taking care of the estate and disbursing the assets of the estate. If she is not going to do that then you might have to petition to remove her as executor. It is impossoble to tell how long the process will take, especially if you need to remove her as executor.
