About Me

I am currently the Co-Chair of the Native American Practice at Hughes Hubbard & Reed.  I am the former General Counsel of the Oneida Indian Nation of New York and have taught American Indian Law at four United States law schools.  I have written articles on Native American Sovereignty for eight law reviews and have lectured on American Indian Law at Harvard, Yale, Columbia and the Univerisity of Pennsylvania Law Schools.  I was also a full time law professor at St. John's University School of Law and spent over 10 years as a corporate lawyer at Cravath, Swaine & Moore.
