Yumi received her law degree from the SUNY Buffalo Law School.
After law school, she served as a Judicial Law Clerk for The Honorable Rochelle Gizinski in the Superior Court of New Jersey. The clerkship experience was invaluable; it helped her acquire an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the court system and legal process in New Jersey.
Following her clerkship, she focused her practice around providing legal and advocacy services to individuals with disabilities, with an emphasis on those most vulnerable and needy. Working around independence and quality of life issues for this group has allowed her to practice across a wide area of civil law in New Jersey – public entitlements, housing advocacy, consumer law, family law, and discrimination.
Yumi has a diverse international background, having lived and studied in Korea, England and the States. Prior to practicing law, Yumi served as a conference interpreter in Seoul, Korea. As an interpreter, she has facilitated communications in over 150 seminars and conferences for international organizations and corporations such as General Motors, Samsung and LG. She also interpreted for many VIPs visiting Korea including Tony Blair, the former prime minister of the United Kingdom and Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh.
Yumi started her career in management consulting. She worked for A.T Kearney as an Analyst in their Seoul and London, England office.
Besides Attorney Choi-Bose’ law practice in New Jersey, she maintains a legal blog for the Korean American community - Everyday Legal.
