Paramus NJ - Credit Card Fraud Charge Dismissed

Practice Area: Criminal Defense

Outcome: Criminal charge dismissed

Description: My client was arrested and charged with Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card following an alleged incident at a store on Route 17 in Paramus. Due to the nature of the charge (indictable/felony-level), it was sent up to the Bergen County Superior Court for handling. This was most concerning for my client because of his pending immigration issues. Initially, we were able to get the case downgraded and sent back to the Paramus Municipal Court for handling. There, we were able to demonstrate to the Municipal Prosecutor that critical pieces of evidence were lacking. When the matter was listed for trial, the State could not even produce a witness from the store. Accordingly, the charge was outright dismissed.
