I would go to him with no reservations for any type of case he handles

I contacted Mr. Seplowitz as a referral from another attorney, and I'm very glad I did. From the first phone conversation James impressed me as professional, skilled, and concerned about my case. I decided to retain him during our first meeting, and have always felt that it was the right decision. He was sympathetic to my concerns and fears, and managed to be both realistic and reassuring at the same time.

My case was resolved quickly and with the best possible outcome (the case was dismissed and sealed). Were I to need an attorney in his field again, I wouldn't hesitate to enlist him, nor to recommend him.

My impression throughout our contact was that James is a decent human being, and that I could trust him.

Rare is the person that is both a good lawyer & a good man.

James Seplowitz is not only an excellent attorney, but a truly good person. Not only was he knowledgeable, intelligent and hard working, but he was also kind-hearted, empathic, and compassionate in all of our dealings.

I would, and still do, recommend that anyone seeking a quality attorney hire Mr. Seplowitz. I still regularly send him referrals whenever I am asked if I know a lawyer, in thanks for the great work he did on my behalf.

If you get busted with a joint in your car in the state of New Jersey.

I was charged with three separate charges all relating to marijuana: possession under 50 grams, possession in a vehicle and a DUI for driving under the influence of marijuana (BS I know). It was my first arrest and the actual amount was 0.027 grams, but in NJ it does not matter if it 0.0001g or 48g its the same charge. I knew I was eligible for a conditional discharge but the DUI was what really worried me. I am a college student with hopes of applying to law school myself in a few years and I knew a DUI charge would be terrible if ever seen by an admissions administrator or a prospective job recruiter. Mr. Seplowitz made sure that didn't happen to me. He knew exactly the route to go and exactly how to handle the court proceedings. he also knew the judge i would be dealing with and how to organize a strategy accordingly. He obtained an expert testimony disputing the Police report and when my day in court finally came he took the prosecutor to school. States very rarely throw out DUI charges because of political pressure to have judges and prosecutors back up what is supposed to be good police work. Mr. Seplowitz got them to throw the DUI charge out completely. He presented evidence that contradicted police reports, that provided information not usually known by old school judges and prosecutors regarding the science around marijuana, and that found multiple flaws in the reports provided by the police. I was put in the conditional discharge program which basically puts you on probation for 6 months to one year and might give you a random urine test every few months. No points on my license, no suspension of license, obviously no jail time, and most importantly NO DUI charge on my record. Basically i just have to stay out of trouble and not do drugs which are pretty reasonable requests. Being arrested sucks and can be the most stressful thing in your life while it is happening. Get a top lawyer, they know a lot more about defending yourself than any public defender or any research you can do on your own. They also have resources available that can only be obtained through years of practicing law in their fields. I am fortunate. I have parents who supported me in paying for all this. If you can, pay the money, its worth it in the future when you are not unemployed because of a stupid pot charge. Hopefully sometime soon kids like me wont have to go through this process but counties in NJ like sussex might as well be like Wyoming 30 years ago when it comes to pot. James Seplowitz knows how to handle them.
