Professional Misconduct

This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority.

  1. Reprimanded
    issued in NJ, 2003

    updated

This means the attorney did something wrong, but the Bar did not suspend the lawyer. Typically in this case the lawyer's poor behavior is exposed to the public in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior.

Jay’s comment: “This reciprocal discipline was the result of a case in New York in 1997 (18 years ago), when I first started practicing law. A client used his credit card to charge legal fees in a criminal case. After the case was over and I got his criminal charges dismissed, he asked for a refund because the case was dismissed quickly. After he was refused, he called his credit card company and told them he never authorized the charges. Regrettably, several unprofessional letters were subsequently sent out”
