I agree with what has been said by others, but if you have a month to do 10 more hours of community service --- JUST DO IT! Go see the bail commissioner or probation if you need help finding a place. You should be able to find a place that can accommodate you over the next month to do 10 hours. Then you can avoid the whole topic of asking for more time and risking the judge saying no and avoiding another court date. Attorney Mark D. Colson Colson Law Firm, LLC 40 Russ Street Hartford,...

I agree with what was said above. I would first look into the conviction history to determine exactly what happened to the assault case many years ago and whether it is still on your record. With that information, you should re-apply and disclose. An attorney can certainly help you with this process, especially one familiar with the pistol permit process and the board of firearms permit examiners (appeals) process. Good luck! Attorney Mark D. While you do not have a criminal conviction at this point (and may or may not ever depending on the circumstances of your case) the pending case will likely show up on background checks. Unfortunately employers might not understand or care about the difference between a "pending" case and a "conviction" even though there is a substantial difference. My best suggestion to you is to speak to an attorney in your area because Assault 2nd is a felony and can have very serious consequences beyond...

This information is available through a FOIA request directed to the Department of Corrections. They will likely require the request to be in writing, but they are usually really great about turning around responses for requests of this type. Good luck! Attorney Mark D. Speak to an attorney before you do anything that will impact your ability to be present in court. You are facing a felony charge, you must take it seriously. If you can't hire a private attorney you will need to apply for a public defender --- this application will likely be started/completed at this next court date. Good luck! Attorney Mark D. Their record has no impact on what the charges could be. The charges will depend on where the phone was and how they got it. Assuming it was just sitting out and someone took it, the charges will likely be misdemeanor larceny (5th degree or 6th degree). They should speak to an attorney. Good luck! Attorney Mark D. As was said by others, it depends on what the specific program or agreement was and also where you are applying for a job (CT or out of state) and also whether it is a federal job. I suggest you consult with a local attorney to discuss your specific situation. Good luck! Attorney Mark D. We would definitely need to know more information than you posted above. I assumed you entered a plea and did not get tried/convicted. If that is true, and you have not yet been sentenced, you would need to (try) file a motion to vacate your plea. Either way, and especially if you have already been sentenced, I strongly suggest you speak to a local attorney who can advise you how to appeal or otherwise collaterally attack the conviction. If you are looking to file an injunction lawsuit, there will be a filing fee after you incur a marshal fee to serve the papers. It is possible that you would qualify for a fee waiver by the court, but you would have to physically go to the clerk's office to fill out the fee waiver application. The form you have listed is to initiate a lawsuit in the housing court claiming your landlord has locked you out. You haven't provided enough information as to what you are exactly trying to do, but as...
