  1. Can a CT speeding ticket under statute 14-298 result in a chargeable offense?

You are unlikely to be further charged, but check off "not guilty" on the ticket and mail it in. You will be given a court date and you can then either speak with the prosecutor or hire an attorney to handle it for you. Good luck! Mark

  2. I received a speeding ticket, my car is in my father's name, and he has a CDL. Is he in danger of facing a penalty?

If your dad was not operating the vehicle and did not receive the ticket, then he will not be impacted. You can always (and probably should) check off "not guilty" and take your chances of getting the ticket dropped in the infractions / magistrate court. Good luck! Mark

From what you describe, it sounds like you have a federal felony conviction, which like it's Connecticut counterpart will require you to wait a few more years before you are eligible to seek a pardon. For felonly convictions, you must wait 5 years from disposition. Good luck!

The prior advice is dead on - file a motion with the court. You can find the "probation motion" forms in the clerk's office. Good luck!

The answer to this depends on when the bond reduction request is filed, when the bond was (last) set or adjusted, and almost more importantly --- who the judge is. You need to speak with an attorney immediately if you want this addressed at his next court date. Good luck!

YES - regardless of whether you believe you are being charged falsely or not you should consult with an attorney. The evading charge has criminal, motor vehicle, and insurance implications should you be convicted. Take it seriously. Good luck!

Where (which court) were you convicted out of? I would suggest you speak with an attorney who routinely practices in that court as that is where the violation proceeding will be held. You should discuss with them your options of turning yourself in - i.e when, where, and how. Good luck!

As others have said in response to your other questions - you (typically) can't remove the warrant without turning yourself in and having the warrant served and processed. You need to interview and hire an attorney before you get on the plane. Good luck!

You didn't indicate whether you are a US citizen or not - that is an important consideration. If you are, as others have stated, you will likely be taken into custody upon arrival. If not, there are good chances you won't be admitted into the country at all. Good luck! Attorney Mark D. As others have already said, there is nothing you can do but turn yourself in and address the merits of the warrant in Rockville. Good luck! Attorney Mark D.
