Jennifer Archer represents a wide variety of clients, focusing her practice on both general civil litigation and immigration. In the civil litigation arena, Jennifer handles matters ranging from mechanic's liens and construction litigation to real estate disputes and landlord-tenant issues, and everything in between.
She also advises individuals and businesses alike on complex immigration matters. From filing family-based or employment-based petitions to helping individuals adjust status and consular process, Jennifer helps her clients through all phases of the immigration process. Additionally, she litigates matters in immigration court, helping clients defend against removal and deportation.
Jennifer places great emphasis on helping the immigrant community. For many years, she has provided pro bono legal services to immigrants as a panel member of the Immigrant Legal Advocacy Project. She is also a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, serving in 2009 as a member of the Consumer Protection Committee. Throughout the years, Jennifer has also presented seminars for human resource professionals on business immigration issues.
Jennifer joined Kelly, Remmel & Zimmerman in 2002, and became a shareholder in the firm in 2009. She received her undergraduate degree in 1997 from the University of Tulsa and then attended law school at the University of Maine School of Law, where she graduated in 2000 cum laude. After graduating from law school, Jennifer clerked for the Maine Superior Court with the Hon. Justices Nancy Mills, Robert E. Crowley, Thomas E. Humphrey and Stephen L. Perkins. The following year, she served as law clerk to the Hon. Justice Donald G. Alexander of the Maine Supreme Judicial Court.
