About me

Sabrina C. Beavens has represented clients in a wide variety of state and federal court matters, including business, real property, bankruptcy and personal injury litigation. Ms. Beavens has also worked on numerous appellate matters throughout her career, including oral argument before the New Hampshire Supreme Court.  Outside of court, Ms. Beavens counsels business clients on matters such as business purchases or sales, real estate transactions, operating agreements, contract negotiations, protection  company interests through non-compete and confidentiality agreements and other general business matters.

Ms. Beavens represents a wide variety of clients, including commercial landlords, medium and small companies, executives and other professionals, private lenders, property owners, entrepreneurs, bankruptcy trustees and personal injury clients.  Some of her accomplishments during her career include:

  • Brought a fraudulent transfer suit in the Federal Court in New Hampshire on behalf of a Florida judgment creditor which resulted in a favorable settlement for the client.
  • Successfully argued that an alleged “bad faith” claim against a national insurance company accrued prior to the debtors’ bankruptcy filing and therefore it was property of the bankruptcy estate.  As a result, the bankruptcy court approved a settlement between the chapter 7 trustee and the insurance company.
  • Negotiated a favorable resolution of a litigation threat against client, a software development company, concerning an alleged breach of contract for the development of custom software and the client’s counterclaim for non-payment.
  • The client was very satisfied with the results and conveyed that the additional advice provided, including revisions to the company’s business contracts, strengthened the company’s position to protect itself in the future.
  • On behalf of creditor/commercial landlord, developed testimony, evidence and legal arguments for a full day emergency evidentiary hearing in bankruptcy court which resulted in a finding of a bad faith Chapter 11 filing against the debtor/tenant, the dismissal of the Chapter 11 case and an award of sanctions against the debtor and the debtor’s attorney.
  • Worked with insurance co-counsel in a large real estate fraud bankruptcy case to file a declaratory judgment adversary proceeding seeking a finding that the insurer had no obligation to defend and no liability under the applicable insurance policies which was the catalyst for a favorable settlement with the Chapter 7 trustee and non-debtor claimants.
  • Worked on behalf of numerous personal injury claimants to achieve favorable resolution of claims, including 1) a substantial six figure recovery in a wrongful death (automobile) matter on behalf the spouse of the decedent; 2) a combined recovery of over a million dollars in a tractor trailer accident on behalf of a mother and her 2-year old son; and 3) a six figure policy limits settlement on behalf of a man seriously injured in an automobile accident.
  • Wrote the brief and presented oral argument at the New Hampshire Supreme Court on a personal jurisdiction issue of first impression involving the Federal Motor Carrier Act which resulted in the affirmation of the trial court.
