I went to see this lawyer about a pending criminal matter. His advice lived up to the unfortunate maxim that "the truth has a limited place in a court of law". He wanted me to assert something to win the case that was not only untrue but also could have caused a lot more problems for me than it solved. In addition, it was unnecessary to get a dismissal.
