About Me: Since AVVO asked, I didn't even consider a legal career until my late thirties. Twenty years later, I enrolled at the Massachusetts School of Law, one year behind my third son, Jack. I spent the better part of that twenty years gaining experience that most lawyers do not get until after graduating law school, if at all. As a result, I started law school with a strong understanding of business contracts, employment law matters, wage and hour concerns, and independent contractor law.
I have a strong background working with many service firms and software technology development organizations, first as a competitor, then as a consultant software developer, and now as an attorney. I co-owned and managed a Professional Software Services and Contract Software Programming business for fourteen years during which time I became a founder and first elected president of the North American trade association, TechServe Alliance.
At age 62, I began a new career, providing legal counsel for business formation, corporation law, and shareholder and partnership matters. I am directly involved in all contract drafting and contract negotiation services. I also deliver experienced counsel in employment separation matters, wage and hour law, and independent contractor law. In my pre-lawyer life, I gained invaluable, personal experience working through many of the challenges faced by owners of family businesses and closely held companies.
