He should request to talk to his PD as to this event - the the information requirement noe is very specific based on the USSC case. He may be able to get a local legal services to assist with the immigration case or even an immigration law clinic if he qualifies for their services based on fiancial need.

Thank you! He is still in custody he was suppose to be released the 1st when I called they said he is on ICE hold til 3rd so Ive emailed an immigration attorney askinng for advise on what to do we dont have money which makes situation even more difficult then it already is. his Public defender did not rear him properly for court or try to help any all the research I read informed not to plea on a DV but he did and judge sentenced him and set court date for dec 26 2012 so we assumed we were in the clear until last night when they told me he was on an ICE hold
