Its coonfusing to me because at sentencing the judge gave him 20 days with time served of 10 and set up counseling and AA meetings she also made another court date for dec 26 2012 to see if he has rehabilitated him self so im confused on tthe ICE hold

Convictions are treated differently for immigration purposes. An violation with an insignificant fine can be a big deal for immigration purposes depending on the nature if the underlying charge. ICE has 48 hours to take him into custody once the criminal system is done with him. He cannot be released in the meantime because of the hold.
