Thats the problem, he was medicated and not in the right state of mind when the canvas was given. You can see the big difference when you read his transcripts. He even tried to committed suicide while waiting in his cell. The gave him a 2 week continuance to get himself together, they medicated him and brought him back 2 weeks later and you could tell he was completely different because of the medication and then thats when he took his plea.
