I looked it up every state diffrent but it can be any where from 18 months to mybe life it also sadly might be on your record to because of the three strikes rule

Anonymous - you are incorrect (and that is probably why you post as anonymous.) The question is posted in Texas so there is a presumption that it is a Texas charge. In Texas, it IS a 2nd degree felony which carries 2 to 20 (not 22) years in prison and if the person gets time (rather than deferred adjudication probation - CANNOT get straight probation), then the person WILL do 1/2 before being eligible for parole. AND, the only felony level which can get less than 2 years in prison (if deferred is not given) is state jail felony - which is NOT anything that a person can get from an aggravated assault (unless, I guess, if they had a plea agreement to attempted aggravated assault - duh.) And the "three strikes rule" is not Texas law and not applicable (and the questioner used the phrase "1st offense". Do NOT attempt to give advice when you do NOT know about which you write. People depend on the advice they receive here.

Ok look up arizona avargated assult law a third time offender is 7 to 21 years I am sorry I put 22 . Also for the most common crimes they repeated a couple . I know you work for Texas that good you know the Texas law but every state is diffrent

Aggravated assult is a derngous crime I know people who been charge with it you can get any where from 1 year to 22 years depending how bad it Is .
