Maybe the question is too ambiguous in its simplicity. I am an Electrical Contractor for over 38 years. My terms state, in part, “…Release of Lien to Property as named herein is hereby granted conditionally upon receipt of payment in full in total satisfaction to the final invoice as stated herein. Failure to pay in full, by the due date, will result in a finance charge of 25% to the unpaid balance per month…”

Simply stated: 25% per month is usury, and unlawful, and the penalty can be not being able to collect a dime.
