Absolutely wrong. YOU should not approach the other side. That should ONLY be done by your attorney. It will be an attorney on the other end of the line, so you better have one on your end. Responding to a CDL is not a pro se matter except if there absolutely positively is no other option, and I have yet to see a case where there is no other option.

Bruce, I challenge your assertion that Elizabeth is absolutely wrong. Elizabeth gave helpful advice. I am an experienced owner of several successful businesses, and you would be amazed about what business owners can accomplish through negotiation. I understand that attorneys are helpful, but they are not the be all and end all.
