Thank you for your response. My wife called the collector and agreed to a settlement. She asked if she still had to go to court. They said "I can't tell you not to go, but when the settlement agreement is filed with the court, then they should be able to tell you that your appearance isn't necessary". The court date is in 7 days, on Feb 4th. We still have no documentation of the settlement.
