Says the attorney... Fox watching the hen house.

Really?

You post a question asking if you should have an attorney for a court hearing. I tell you yes - and you imply that my answer is somehow self serving. You're in Texas - I'm in NJ. Whether you get an attorney or not means nothing to me. However, I stand by my response. If you are going to court - and especially if the other side has an attorney - you should have one too.

You have to know both the law and the court procedure - a mistake with either law or procedure could cost you a case that you should otherwise win.

Thanks for elaborating. Your first response did appear self serving because you didn't elaborate. I am guessing that this site gives points for participation... Either way, it's not an easy call to hire an attorney for x$'s/hr to recover a piece of propery that's currently valued at $2300.
