I paid the ticket online last night. Could I bring the receipt to the airport to show that yes I indeed paid it?

That won't matter. That won't be proof to a law enforcement agent that a warrant has been lifted if their database tells them you have an active warrant. You need something from the municipal court showing the warrant has been recalled.

Does the database update itself? When I called the municipal court yesterday they said the system updates itself and the warrant will be lifted once I paid the ticket.

I've never heard of a database that updates itself. Typically a clerk has to see that the ticket has been disposed of and then take action to recall the warrant. They are also talking about THEIR databases. If your warrant was on the national NCIC database that most law enforcement officers use, it could take some time to be removed. That's why I always advise my clients to keep a copy of the order recalling the warrant on them for at least a few months.

Woah okay. I live in California right now. And when I drove over here there were checkpoints and each time they checked my license nothing came up about my warrant. And I also went to the DMV and police station and nothing came up about my arrest warrant in Texas. So does that mean its not on the national database?

I also went online to the municipal court website to check if I still had the citation, and it said no citations found

I have no idea. I have seen old warrants suddenly appear after two years. You're probably fine, but I certainly wouldn't personally guarantee you anything. And remember that citations and warrants are two different things. Disposing of one does not necessarily mean disposing of the other.
