Ok. Support Magistrates do not usually appoint law guardians. They have a limited ability to do so. However, you can ask that one be appointed. You may be successful.

Some Support Magistrates will not address this type of emancipation issue. They believe that the Family Court Judge must do so. However, others do address this issue.

Do I request it in writing? Do I have put together a request for an order? I've been doing pretty well with that sort of stuff so far on my own with this, but now the lawyer just keeps pushing stuff

I would start with a letter to the Support Magistrate. If you cannot afford an attorney, check with Legal Aid and with the Albany County Bar Association to see if you can be assigned an attorney for this matter.

I will try the letter. They wont assign me one, the claim is that I make too much to be eligible
