I have an app on my phone called Police Tape it is offered by the ACLU of NJ but states it may not be legal in your state. It records audio conversation while in stealth mode and not visible that it is being used. Once it records a conversation and I turn the app off the conversation gets automatically sent to the ACLU.
Is it advisable to use this app whenever I am stopped or questioned.

It is considered an illegal wire tap if audio is recorded without the officers approval.
