Criminal cases are rare, and almost always because someone engaged in large-scale reselling of copyrighted product. For example, Kim Dotcom of Megaupload has a criminal complaint pending because he facilitated hundreds of thousands or millions of acts of infringement. From what you have described, a criminal complaint is highly unlikely.
Those whose copyrighted content is infringed through things like BitTorrent can learn about it in just a few hours: see http://www.bayoaklaw.com/resist-the-torrent/ . Stay away -- far, far away -- from BitTorrent, and tell all your friends the same thing. It doesn't relieve you of any legal liability, but purging your computer of all infringing material will be a step in the right direction, and will be the beginning of atonement for your mistake. If your ISP is subpoenaed for your identifying information, contact a lawyer to try to reach a quick settlement. Again: stay away from BitTorrent -- it is wrong, and it is not worth it.
