One more note, having practiced real estate law for a number of years, I have completed many a title search. I have found on quite a few occasions, a deed or other instrument filed with language that was clearly an error on the part of the person drafting the document, so the original deed may have actually said he owned the property himself "as tenants by the entirety" which would make no legal sense.
