I was just told a sewer lines runs the length of my property on my property line. I was told I can not do anything within 10 feet of that line, yet my driveway was built within 8 ft of the line.. I wanted to run a fence on my property but they told me they would not approve the permit. The association has given permits for others to build on top and within 10 ft of the sewer line but told me they can basically do what they want and allow permits to whom they wish. They even told me if I put anything within 10 ft of the line they will have it removed at my expence.. This is one person I am dealing with that does the zoning. I don't know if there is anything I can do and what I am allowed to do. I asked for 8 feet from the utility line to put up my fence to contain my pets and sto kids from cutting through my yard to get to the other street. Is there any thing i can do if they do not approve the 8 ft?? Can i place movable planter boxes on the easment without the association moving them as well??? and do they have to give me notice before they come on my property to do any work there.if need be. Because the sewer line is on my property .. is the expence my responsibility if they need to tear it up?? When we had the house built we were never told of the easment on the side of my home . Thanks KIM
