Hi - I'm in a similar position to the above. I'm on an L1 Blanket visa, from the UK . It looks as though the business unit I work for will be sold in the coming months, and not likely the overseas parent will be acquired in this transaction. I have applied for the GC, and my I40, I485 are all in pending status. I had my biometrics done today, so I'm hopeful this could be a quick way to achieve permanent status. Question I have is if the GC route does not work out, for any reason, what would be my next option and is the H1B route something I could go down even when the company has announced its sale - how long do I have on the L1 then to find an employer willing to sponsor on the H1B. Many thanks -

H1 is a good option if you can hold off on an October 1 start date. If your GC is being handled by an attorney, chances are your adjustment should be approved by then if you have already had biometrics. Again, we would love to consult with you to see if we can help you. Go to www.MyGreenCardLawyer.com to schedule either a Free Initial Consult in the Office or Teleconference for a fee.
