I do not foresee that the bank will release the mortgage. Why would they?

Because of the dismissal with prejudice should I contact the bank on my own and ask them to release the mortgage? We can't afford thousands for an attorney but after what has transpired with them I do not just want to hand the house back over to them. Believe me we have tried everything to the best of our ability to do the right thing from day one and they have given us nothing but trouble.
