If I understand correctly, if his adjudication was deferred and then dismissed he could not have been adjudicated a juvenile delinquent because the Judge withheld his decision and then dismissed it? The charge was "theft by deception'. He had to stay out of trouble for 6 months and paid a $250 restitution fee. Expungement is not an option because NJState Police look at expungements and you have to disclose expungements, so it makes little sense to try to hide something that they are going to find anyway. I called the attorney and he was not sure; neither was the prosecutor's office or the Juvenile Court--I requested a copy of the final order of the Court in hopes that they may indicate whether he was adjudicated a juvenile delinquent--I find it crazy that neither the COurt or prosector can help with this one

The court can get a computer read out of the entry. You are correct about
expungements that is why I did not suggest that. But it sounds like there
was no adjudication. I just received such a read out from 07.

The correct answer to my question is NO...he was not adjudicated a juvenile delinquent...per a NJ State Police recruiter. His juvenile file was just destroyed by the Court last week. They usually keep them until the juvenile turns 22--so the only thing on file is that it was a deferred adjudication that was dismissed.. thanks for all your help...
