Thanks.I have an attorney but I don't have a lot of faith in his desire to fight for me because he advised me before my court hearing to ask for voluntary departure; I don't have the financial means to get another lawyer at this time. The judge at my hearing was very fair & gave me a continuance on one ground of being eligible for a "U" visa due to the fraud.I have been in the US over 15 years & out of status for more than 1, so the 10yr bar would have kicked in if I'd agreed with my lawyer to voluntarily depart. I have some family who are citizens & residents but no immediate even though my mom is on the verge of getting her residency, along with some aunts & uncles. I've tried to find advocates to help me in Florida, but no luck. I'm 34, with a college degree I obtained here & no criminal record except for 9 days arrest & detention due to Aler's fraud.
