I have no intentions of filing a suit but would rather file a police report for misconduct against the detective, in the sense that no one other than the school officer (but he wasn't on campus during the questioning) knew the questioning was taking place. I'm more interested in letting them (the detectives) know this wasn't 'okay' to talk with my son without proper notification.

This indecent took place Wednesday, February 1, 2012; however I want to take care of this asap.

You can complain to the police department. Then they will do whatever they see fit with that complaint. You might also teach your son to never talk to police without you present. If a juvenile assert the right, police can't force the juvenile to tlak and court may enforce the right in a motino to suppress statement.
