An astounding 44% of Alaska's population lives in just one city: Anchorage. Not only is it home to nearly half of Alaska's population, but if measuring by land area, Anchorage is also one of the largest cities in the country. Covering almost 2,000 square miles, the city itself is the size of Delaware. In fact, if measuring by land area, Alaska is home to the four largest cities in the US.
Sixty of Alaska’s 100,000 glaciers can be found in Anchorage. The city is also home to the Portage Glacier, one of the most visited attractions in the state.
