Admiralty / Maritime

Admiralty law concerns the navigation and shipping rules and procedures for commercial and recreational boating. If you are on a boat or own a boat that crashes into another boat, or a dock, pier or wharf, admiralty law (also called maritime law) applies. If someone is injured in the crash, if cargo is damaged, or if the boat sinks and causes a gas spill, admiralty law assigns responsibility and determines who has to pay. Admiralty laws are complex and can be confusing. If you or your business engage in water-based activities, an admiralty or maritime lawyer can be very helpful.
